Thea nodded. “I’m in,” she said. Erebus grinned. “Let’s do this,” he said.
The plan was simple. Kairos would create a diversion at the Council’s military base while Thea snuck in and planted a virus in their system. The virus would shut down their technology, giving The Order the upper hand when the time came.
Thea and Kairos set off, Erebus staying behind to wait. Thea snuck into the base, avoiding guards and cameras with ease. She reached the server room and set to work, planting the virus.

Meanwhile, Kairos created his diversion. A massive storm raged outside the base, drawing the guards away from Thea. She worked quickly, her fingers flying over the keyboard.
Finally, the virus was planted. Thea made her way back to the exit, avoiding the guards who were still distracted by Kairos’s storm.

She made it out safely, just as Kairos let the storm die down. They made their way back to Erebus, who was waiting anxiously.
“It’s done,” Thea said.
Erebus nodded, a plan forming in his mind. Now, they just had to wait for the Council to make their move.
But the Council wasn’t going to wait long. They sent a team of guards to investigate the disturbance. And to take out Kairos, who they suspected was behind it.
The guards opened fire, bullets ripping through the air. Kairos and his clones moved quickly, dodging and weaving between the attacks. But there were too many guards, too many bullets.
One by one, the clones fell. The first one was hit in the chest, the second in the head. The third was riddled with bullets, the fourth fell to a sniper shot.
Kairos was the last one standing. He was tired, his energy running low. He tried to summon another clone, but he didn’t have the strength.

The guards closed in, their guns trained on him. Kairos knew he was going to die. But then, suddenly, he felt a surge of energy. He summoned a clone and windwalked away just as the guards opened fire.
The clone was hit, falling to the ground in a heap. The guards cheered, thinking they had finally killed Kairos. But he was long gone, windwalking to safety.
