SeventhSight nodded, his eyes scanning the horizon, “I’ll find it.”
He walked off, his magic guiding him through the winding dunes. Suddenly, he stopped, his eyes fixed on something in the distance.
Aria followed his gaze, her eyes widening, “What is that?”
SeventhSight’s voice was grim, “It’s the entrance. And it’s guarded.”
SeventhSight raised his hand, and a blast of Tenebrous Force shot out, striking the guards and sending them flying. The Tenebrous Force was followed by a wave of Luminous Aura, blinding the guards and disorienting them. Aria charged forward, her staff spinning in her hands. She unleashed a flurry of Chrono Strikes, her Aevum magic creating temporal loops that repeated her attacks multiple times. The guards were quickly overwhelmed, and soon they lay defeated at SeventhSight’s and Aria’s feet.
SeventhSight smiled, a fierce glint in his eye, “Let’s do it.”
He turned to Aria, and nodded. Aria, you’re with me. We’ll go in through the roof, and take out the Sons of Ishmael from above. Agent Jackson, you take the front door. We’ll provide cover from above, and you can take them out from the front. Aria nodded, then turned and ran off to get into position. SeventhSight followed her, his heart pounding with excitement. He loved the thrill of battle, and he was ready for whatever lay ahead. As they reached the roof, SeventhSight nodded to Aria, then dropped down through the roof and into the warehouse.
Aria’s eyes locked onto his, and for a moment, they just stared at each other, the past hanging in the air between them like a challenge. Then Aria spoke, her voice soft and nostalgic, “Do you remember that summer we spent at the lake? The one where Eliana taught us how to sail?” SeventhSight smiled, the memory flooding back to him like a warm wave. He remembered the feel of the sun on his skin, the wind in his hair, the sound of Aria’s laughter as she splashed in the water. He remembered the way Eliana had watched over them, her eyes warm with a love that was both fierce and gentle.
The US President nodded thoughtfully and said, “SeventhSight raises valid points. Let’s divide into committees: one for Carrionborn research, one for Sons of Ishmael strategy, and one for Erebus intelligence. SeventhSight, will you lead the Erebus committee? Your history with him makes you the ideal candidate.” SeventhSight hesitated, then nodded, “I accept. But I’ll need access to all intelligence, no matter how classified. Erebus leaves no digital trace, so we’ll rely on human sources and instincts.” The US President nodded, “Done. You’ll have full clearance. Now, let’s reconvene in two hours with our findings.”
SeventhSight laughed. “You’re not my brother. My brother would never threaten me.” He charged forward, but before he could reach Erebus, Kairos raised his hand, and a blast of energy shot out, striking SeventhSight and sending him flying across the room. SeventhSight crashed through the window and fell to the ground outside.
