Carrionlord loomed over Erebus’ body, her eyes blazing with sadistic triumph. SeventhSight shielded Captain Ortega and Leni with his body, magic swirling wildly around him like chaotic purple storms. Captain Ortega broke free from SeventhSight’s grasp, firing his gun wildly at Carrionlord’s face – each bullet ripping through her flesh but instantly healing. Leni joined him, loading a gravity-warped bullet into her rifle and firing at Carrionlord’s chest – the bullet slowing time around its path, hitting her with immense force. Carrionlord stumbled back, giving SeventhSight time to cast a spell. His hands danced intricately, summoning massive crystal spikes from the ground. They impaled Carrionlord – but she merely laughed, her body absorbing the crystals’ magic. Kairos leapt into the fray, his body glowing bright blue as he unleashed a maelstrom of psychic energy. Carrionlord howled in pain, stumbling backwards – her wings flapping wildly. Erebus slowly stirred, his hammer glowing faintly as he summoned his strength.

Then Carrionlord unleashed a devastating blast of darkness. The blast slammed into the heroes, sending them flying across the room. Captain Ortega crashed into a wall, Leni into a pile of rubble, Kairos into a broken pillar, SeventhSight into a shattered window – and Erebus back into the wall he’d just gotten up from. As they struggled to rise, Carrionlord raised her hand – summoning a swirling vortex of darkness above each hero. The vortices began to pull them in, draining their powers and strength. Captain Ortega’s gun arm faltered, Leni’s gravity bullets lost their warp, Kairos’ glow faded, SeventhSight’s magic weakened – and Erebus’ hammer dimmed. Carrionlord cackled triumphantly, her eyes burning with malevolent energy. Suddenly, Leni glared up at Carrionlord – her eyes blazing with fierce determination. She whispered something – and the gravity around her bullet casings warped.

The bullet casings shot upwards, pulled by their own warped gravity towards Carrionlord – piercing her skin like tiny, jagged knives. Carrionlord howled in pain, momentarily releasing her grip on the heroes. Powers surging back, Captain Ortega activated his Berserker Armor – its metal plates glowing red as he slashed wildly at Carrionlord. Leni loaded another bullet, her aim enhanced by the Eclipse Protocol chip in her brain, and fired – the gravity-warped bullet striking Carrionlord’s shoulder. Kairos unleashed a Nexarion Storm – blue energy blasts raining down on Carrionlord like a torrent. SeventhSight cast a spell, summoning a blade of pure light to slash at Carrionlord’s chest – then quickly followed with a wave of dark energy to push her back. Erebus charged forward, his Shadow Arts fueling his muscles as he swung his hammer in a devastating arc towards Carrionlord’s head.
Erebus’ hammer crashed into Carrionlord’s head, sending her crashing to the ground – her wings limp and still. The heroes stood panting, their chests heaving with exhaustion. SeventhSight whispered a spell, conjuring a crystal cage to encase Carrionlord’s body. Captain Ortega deactivated his armor, Leni lowered her gun, Kairos ended his storm – and Erebus leaned on his hammer, his chest heaving. Suddenly, Carrionlord’s eyes flickered open – her gaze locking onto Erebus. She whispered a single word: “Father…”

Erebus frowned, his eyes narrowing. “What did you say?” he growled. Carrionlord smiled weakly, her voice barely audible. “You…don’t remember…do you, Erebus?” She coughed, blood dripping from her lips. SeventhSight stepped forward, his eyes blazing with anger. “Don’t listen to her, Erebus. She’s trying to manipulate you.” But Erebus raised a hand, silencing him. “No, SeventhSight. Let her speak. What do you mean, Carrionlord?” Carrionlord’s smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with triumph.
Carrionlord’s voice was barely audible, but her words struck Erebus like thunder. “You…are my father…Erebus Blackwood…and I…am your daughter…Ereia Blackwood. Our family…was torn apart…by the Order of the Veil. I sought power…to protect myself…and find you. But the Order…they twisted me…into this monster. Erebus, remember…our past…our home…Blackwood Manor?
Carrionlord’s words hung in the air like a challenge. Erebus’ eyes widened, his mind reeling. Suddenly, Carrionlord’s body began to glow with dark energy. She broke free from the crystal cage, shattering it into a thousand pieces. SeventhSight stumbled back, his eyes wide with shock. Captain Ortega activated his Berserker Armor, Leni raised her gun, Kairos summoned a Nexarion Storm – and Erebus gripped his hammer tightly. But Carrionlord merely laughed, her eyes blazing with power. She raised her hand, unleashing a massive wave of darkness. The heroes stumbled back, blinded and disoriented. When their vision cleared, Carrionlord was gone.
The cultists, Order of the Veil, and Sons of Ishmael were all defeated earlier, their bodies lying motionless around the room. The heroes had fought bravely, cutting down anyone who dared stand in their way. But when Carrionlord escaped, the remaining cultists and soldiers fled in terror. The heroes were left standing alone, victorious but shaken. They looked at each other, their eyes filled with a mix of emotions. SeventhSight spoke up, his voice barely above a whisper. “We…we should go after her. Before she causes more destruction.” But Erebus hesitated, his mind still reeling from Carrionlord’s words.

Erebus nodded slowly. “Agreed. Let’s move out, team. We have a world to save…again.” The heroes nodded, determination etched on their faces. They exited the underground lair, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
